Native American Arrowheads

The following are arrowheads found mostly in the midwestern United States (Illinois and Indiana). Most were found by my Dad on their family farm in Indiana during the 50s and 60s. It used to be farely common to find arrowheads left behind by Native Americans in tilled fields and near streams, however, it's getting harder and harder to find any.

Unlike most images on this site, I've released them into the public domain. This means you are free to use these images however you like, without attributing me. However, I would appreciate a link back to Donutey if you use them.

This one is missing its tip. This is probably my favorite arrowhead, because of the white color and craftsmanship. This arrowhead is surprisingly smooth to the touch. This one is a little greenish, probably from copper in the rock. A mixture of rock types? This one of the larger arrowheads A somewhat odd looking mixture of rock types An unfinished arrowhead? This was probably a scraping tool of some sort, not an arrowhead. Arguably the largest arrowhead of the bunch Another white quartz arrowhead Missing the base of the arrowhead One of the smallest arrowhead I have I'm not entirely sure this is an Indian artifact, although it looks like it's been modified in some way. A smaller white arrowhead with a fine serrated edge

Other Interesting Things

Fossilized sea creature of some sort This odd looking thing appears to be iron. Evidently this is a fossilized mammoth molar. Possibly a fossilized clam of some sort? Here's the same clam from a different angle.

If you have any additional information about any of the arrowheads pictured please don't hesitate to email it to the address below. Thanks.
