About Us

The Start

This site started out as a personal site on July 9th, 2005 1:35pm and was hosted by Internet Army. During this time I wrote the first version of the Build Your Own Computer Guide and started the Forum. After Internet Army died, I found FriHost and shortly after I started work on a new site design. After three beta designs and two site designs, I created the current site design version three of the website which is XHTML and CSS compliant, although some content may not be, but I try to keep it all valid. After the redesign traffic has picked up and I hope we continue to grow.

The Goal

Become a center for technology reviews and guides. In the short term, I want to continue to develop the site with more guides and reviews, and improve the design to allow greater user interactivity in all aspects of the site. In the future look for comment boxes, and the ability to post your own reviews instantly and easily.

Hosting

Switched to FriHost, it offers heck of a lot more features, but I have to "stay active" not so bad for service that's usually $10 a month. You can see the details of the installation on the PHP Information Page
Originally hosted at internetarmy.com however they seem to have died thus I switched to FriHost which offers greater flexibility.

FriHost uses the Open-source Apache HTTP Server.
